Ross studied at the University of Stellenbosch, where he attended Simonsberg Men's Residence. He graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) in 2015.

Following his studies, Ross completed his articles at Deloitte Johannesburg in their financial services division, where he qualified as a CA(SA). He is also a CFA Charterholder.

In 2019, he undertook an international rotation with Deloitte in Prague, before joining Louw & Company, a financier of South African mid-market businesses. During his three-year tenure at Louw & Company, he was involved in the issuance of over R1-billion of commercial paper through the Cape Town Stock Exchange, and the deployment of this capital through alternative credit investments.

Ross worked in the investment team at TC Ventures, a private equity firm backed by Transaction Capital Limited, before joining RMB Corvest in 2024.

When he is not pursuing investment opportunities, Ross is an avid golfer and birder. He also enjoys running, padel, and traveling with his wife
