Menzi studied at the University of Pretoria and completed his BCom and Honours (Finance) in 2011. He thereafter joined the Nedbank Specialised Finance team, where he gained lending experience. After two and half years he joined Barclays Africa (Investment Bank) in the leveraged finance team.

While at Barclays, he was seconded to the London office to join the Corporate Finance division where he focused on EMEA Financial Sponsors. He later joined the Corporate Finance team in Johannesburg focusing on financial sponsors. Menzi subsequently joined RMB Corvest in April 2018.
