Benka obtained a BSc Honours and MSc Finance degree at the London School of Economics in 2005; after enjoying some work experince at Goldman Sachs and Investec in London she returned home to South Africa.

In 2006 she joined the Leverage and Acquisition Finance team at Investec in Johannesburg where she focused on listed entities, private equity and big private companies. She gained experience in structuring for management buyouts, leveraged buyouts, delisting’s, mergers and acquisitions as well as leveraged transaction for organic growth and capital expenditure.

After seven years she decided it was time to explore opportunities in investing activities within the private equity market. She joined RMB Corvest in 2014 where she has gained great experience through executing numerous deals in different industries as well as being a board member on many of the RMB Corvest portfolio companies.
